Mark Moore, Kerry Kreft, David Ewald, Fred Bauss and Joe Krajenke show off their awards at Comerica Park in Detroit

The S&B Pro Shop team, winners of the 2004 American Bowling Congress Team Event, received their individual awards at ceremonies at Comerica Park in Detroit on Monday prior to the Detroit Tigers game with the Chicago White Sox.

Team captain Joe Krajenke of Clinton Township, sponsor Fred Bauss of Eastpointe, David Ewald of Warren, Kerry Kreft of Madison Heights and Mark Moore of Macomb received their Eagle trophies and watches for their title performance from Mark Martin, Executive Director of the Greater Detroit Bowling Association and a Director with the American Bowling Congress.

The team shot a score of 3,268 in the 101st Annual ABC Championship Tournament at Reno, Nev. outdistancing 12,884 other teams. Individual scores were Krajenke (713), Bauss (617), Ewald (690), Kreft (643) and Moore (605).

"It was a great opportunity to honor this great team for their accomplishment in front of a new audience.", said Martin. "Detroit remains a bowling hotbed and their victory helps cement Detroit as the Bowling Capital of the World."

Many family and friends of the team were among the crowd of 12,495 where the Detroit Tigers put an end to a five-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the visiting White Sox.

The S&B Pro Shop team will defend their title in early March 2005 at the ABC Championship Tournament at Baton Rouge, La.

Figures recently released put the Greater Detroit Bowling Association first in membership among local affiliates of the ABC with 52,736 members, far ahead of runner-up Chicago with 25,782.
